Church Musician

Wil is fluent in a wide variety of church music styles, and always strives toward creativity and authentic performance practice learned from two early mentors: Lorraine Florindez, an organist and pianist in the Lutheran church inspired a love of classical and contemporary music; and Gerald Cassanova, a Missionary Baptist deacon and musician, who instilled a deep love of jazz, gospel music, and improvisation.

A classical organist by training, Wil also studied jazz piano and choral conducting, and in his years of experience serving churches has directed adult and children’s choirs, handbell ensembles, baroque chamber groups, orchestras, gospel bands, and contemporary ensembles. He currently serves as organist and associate director of music at Wellshire Presbyterian Church in Denver. From 2014 - 2022, he served as Director of Music at Central Presbyterian Church in Denver, Colorado, and from 2006-2014 served as organist at First Presbyterian Church of Brooklyn.
